I sat alone in the quietness

I sat alone in the quietness and stillness of my home today. The only sounds were the ticking of our wall clock and the steady rain hitting the tin roof of our house. The holidays are over, the tree and decorations are all back in the attic, and family has returned to their home. Its so quite...its an eerie feeling of loneliness as I sat and looked around my small living room. It gave me a chance to reflect on how blessed we are.
We live in a very country, old ranch style, two bedroom home on five acres. We even have a guest house, "The Bunk House" with one bedroom. Our furniture isn't fancy and our dΓ©cor is plain. The yard isn't manicured, our vehicles aren't parked in a closed garage. Our cloths are plain and not always in style...But...
I sit here and my heart swells with an over whelming since of satisfaction and feeling of a blessed life.
We have been blessed with a home, warm from the winter and dry from the rain that falls outside our door right now. We have warm beds to sleep in, clean clothes to wear, and food on our tables. Our creditors get paid on time, we have a steady income, and we are able to tithe. We have wonderful children who have big hearts and good morals, and husbands who provide and take care of them. And we have a beautiful little granddaughter who keeps showing us the innocence of a child's laughter and keeping our hearts full of love. We have our health, our love for each other, and our faith.
God has blessed us so much...

"Treasures in Heaven "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” -Matthew 6:19-21
