Till Death do us part

Yesterday was our 39th Wedding Anniversary. I cant believe it either....
There are few couples these days that can say they have been married that long. Marriages now days are like revolving doors. I love my husband more than life itself. It hasn't always been a bed of roses, what marriage is, but we have lived  by the words we spoke to each other thirty-nine years ago...
I, Betty, take you James, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

Have to share this Anniversary funny...
Yesterday morning my husband goes outside before breakfast and comes back in a little while with something behind his back and a card in hand. When I question whats behind his back, he says you better read the card first. Well I did, and at the end of the card he writes:
"Sorry about the Roses"
Come to find out as he takes them from behind his back, that he had stored them in the Bunk House refrigerator where they had frozen! Dead!
We couldn't help but laugh together! It was a sweet thing for him to do for me, but you have to admit , it was funny. Later after Church, I went to a Baby shower and my husband stayed home. When I returned home, I sat my purse and keys on the counter where the Roses were and as I looked at them, I was amazed how pretty they were! How can that be, I asked? How...he started grinning...He had replaced my dead, frozen Roses with another bunch. Alive, Red ones!
The little things in life are what a couple takes for granted! The frozen roses mean as much as me to those fresh ones! Its like they are saying, "In sickness and in Health, till Death do us part".

I’d like to ride down Memory’s Lane
Together, you and I…
And sing the songs we used to sing
In the pleasant days gone by.
Our thoughts will bloom like flowers
And we’ll gather every one;
We’ll laugh at things we used to do,
The joyous things we've done.
And then someday if God is good
Perhaps beneath the sky…
Hand in hand, we’ll ride once more
Together….YOU AND I!
