Why does it hurt so much

Back at the beginning of the year, I wrote a post called
" Don't Cry for me Down Here ".
I talked about how hard it is to say Goodbye to those we love and how we should Celebrate instead.
Then why does  it hurt so much....

In March of 2011, Doctors removed a seventeen pound tumor from one of Cecelia's kidneys, as well as the kidney itself. In September they found that the cancer had spread to both lungs. After three hard rounds of Chemo and surgery to remove several tumors in each lung, Cecelia was still suffering. In May 2012, they found that the cancer had spread to the brain and radiation was to begin this past week. She could only bare the one treatment when she became even sicker from the disease and was then told this past week that the cancer had spread throughout her body. She gave Cancer a good fight!
This photo was taken only one week ago. As tired as she was and braving her pain, she still put on her wig and hung her glasses around her neck, stood with her brother and I, smiling and looking like her old self.
Why does saying goodbye hurt so much as I watch my husband say those words and tell his sister how much he loves her. She responded with her love back and told him to take care of each other, she was OK and she was ready.
Today, at 4:56 pm, she gave up the fight peacefully. Between the tears and the hugs, my husband reminds me..."Shes celebrating right now with their Mother and Father, Their Sister and Brother."
You cant help but feel that joy, that peace, that love, that celebration! Until we see you again...keep celebrating, Cecelia !

I'm so sorry to hear abut Cecelia's passing. Cancer has taken so many loved ones over the past years. It sounds like she was surrounded by a very loving and supportive family. I hate to lose anyone now that I'm learning about so many relatives I knew nothing about a few years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Thank you for letting me know. God Bless.

    Dear James and Betty,
My condolences to you and your families. My thoughts are with you all.
I was sorry to hear that she was taking a break in her treatment but each patient has that right and I'm sure her decision was an informed one.
    Sincerely, Sue
