Don't Cry for me Down Here

We all say Goodbye to someone in our life time. Have you ever thought about how many you have said goodbye to? Family, friend's, acquaintance's....So many!
Who was the hardest to say goodbye to? For me it was my mother. Just days before she passed away I had to say goodbye. Tell her, "Its OK to let go." Saying Goodbye is the hardest, saddest thing we will ever have to do and we will say it to so many. But aren't we suppose to celebrate their passing? Not be sad? Their not hurting anymore. Their bodies are new and perfect. The Bible tells us...
God will give us glorious immortal bodies.Philippians 3:21and 1 Corinthians 15:51-53. All Physical deformities will be cured. (The eye of the blind will be opened, the ears of the deaf unstopped and the crippled healed.) Isaiah 35:3-6. They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. Isaiah 65:21-23. The wolf and lamb will feed together. God's New Kingdom will be one of tranquil peace. Isaiah 65:25. We will fellowship with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the greatest minds of the ages forever. Matthew 8:11.
When my time comes to leave this earth and my loved ones have to say goodbye, I don't want them to be sad for me. I want them to celebrate my new life and know that I only go before them until we say, Hello. So don't cry for me down here! Be happy, love and be there for each other, and celebrate!
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
Yeah when I get where I'm going
Don't cry for me down here

But when I get where I'm going
And I see my maker's face
I'll stand forever in the light
Of his amazing grace
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I'm going
Yeah when I get where I'm going

  1. When my mom died I was so glad that she was no longer sick. Right now I just miss her a lot. I know our time together was just the beginning and not an end but the in between time sure does hurt.

  2. I agree, my mother was the hardest to leave. I know she was suffering so, but that didn't make it any easier to let go. I miss her strength and her kindness each and every day.

  3. The reason I cry is because I will never see that person again. But I know that person is not suffering any more and is in a better place. But that is not gonna keep me from not crying I just think it is a natural thing to do because our heart is so hurt and loved that person it is hard to celebrate someones death..I guess that could be selfish knowing that the person is in a better place, but I was born with a heart and when it is broken I cry a natural thing to do when you love someone.....So Betty,I don't want to see you pass but if it happens I want you to know I am going to cry,but will be GLAD you are in Heaven with our Saviour...Love Renea and Roy

    1. The ache will always be in your heart and when you feel that you know shes there.

  5. This was lovely....sad and sweet in the same moment. My mother is still with me and I can hardly bear the thought of losing her--how frightening death must be for those that don't know the Lord. I've watched my boys begin losing these last few years; goldfish and rats, two of our cats...I think it's really how we learn to appreciate the time we do have with any beloved thing. Really embracing how mortal we all are, enables us to relish this amazing life the way God intended us to.
