Christmas Eve Under The Moon

Christmas Eve dinner under the Moon

Moon's Grocery, Homer Louisiana

Moon's Grocery and Deli -  People like us drive for miles for their famous grilled steaks and ribs. On Scenic Louisiana Highway 9, north of Highway 2 from Homer.

“People want to take a nice drive and eat a good steak, that's all.” "It's the last hole-in-the-wall cafe in the world. Actually, it's Moon's grocery in Claiborne Parish, sitting in a time warp of Civil War proportions...."

We have taken many of our family on different occasions to eat at Moons, some of which were The Smiths from Talco, The Newman's from Arizona, The Harrigill's from Florida.
I love the look on their face as we drive up to this hole in the wall that looks like you wouldn't eat anything inside..well that was my first impression, some ten years ago.  It hasn't changed on the outside and really not much inside either, except for some well needed tables.
They do have entertainment...A TV and the latest conversation with the people your sitting next too. They even have a little bit of  grocery's here and there if you just want to run in and get milk, bread, or eggs. But we DONT  go there for that! We go for the famous steaks.

I have often thought that we should contact  Guy Fieri, with the TV show Dinere, Drive-ins and Dives to come check out Moon's .

Menu -
Ribeye Steaks, Pork Ribs, Sandwiches
Ribeye Steaks sole by thickness - 1 1/4 inch, 1 1/2 inch, 2 inch. Comes with a baked potato. Optional sides include and extra potato, great BBQ beans, and potato salad.
Pork ribs - 1/2 pound, 1 pound, or plate
Sandwiches - Bologna, Pressed Ham, Boneless Ham, Chopped Ham, Liverloaf, Souse, Salami, Chopped Beef, Sliced Beef, Smoked Sausage, Hot Link

After cooking all day for Christmas dinner tomorrow with our children and their family's, it was a nice treat by my husband. Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope your Eve was a nice as mine under Moon's...
(Eat your heart out sis)
