My Best friend

My sister and I sat in the Shreveport airport yesterday while awaiting her flight back home to Arizona. As we waited ,we passed the time with our iPhone of course, and took silly pictures.

I always have fun when she and I are silly together! We are so much alike that it is scary at times. We may not always see eye to eye and can get in some disagreements when it comes to fashion, politics, houses, and grammar. But what are friends for if you cant love them for our faults. I love my sister and brother, Roy, with all my heart and I always will. We have a closeness NO ONE can come between.
We did a lot while my sis was visiting. I entered the two of us in a 5k walk run for the Spring Spectacular , which was her first one. She came in third in her age group and I came in second. I’m really proud of her and that we got to share that together!

I took her to The River Walk in Shreveport where we walked a 8.69 walk and enjoyed a healthy lunch I backpacked for our halfway point. Unfortunately , Margie threw out her saccadic nerve and wasn't able to walk with me anymore during her stay. So we did other things together….We shopped, we went to the show three times, went out to eat a few times, went to my favorite beautician, shopped some more……and if all that wasn't enough to keep us busy, we met up with our brother and sister-in-law for a road trip down Memory Lane. I am so glad we did and it was a very rewarding experience to share with them. We traveled to Natchez, Roxie, and Jackson Mississippi.
miss river We camped under the Mississippi Bridge and saw the beautiful inside of the Jackson State Capital.

The Daughters of the American Revolution at the  Mississippi State Capital was the cake on the topping in Jackson because we were able to find the exact spot our mother had a photo taken with  the two oldest Confederate Soldiers. I have the original photo  and now I have that I have the history of that photo  it feels as if we made a connection with our mother from the past after several hours at the William F. Winter Archives & History Building
100_3368 I  also dragged her around to several Graveyards to fulfill requests for the Find a Grave association. I think she liked it. I even got my brother Roy and sister-in-law, Renea, involved when we were in Mississippi.
Margie and I also shared Mothers day this past Sunday together while she was in Minden. My husband made us both breakfast before Church and my daughters made her fill as special as they made me feel on our day. We visited the grave site of our mother after Church and put out new flowers.  Wow, I cant believe she has been gone now 4 months shy of thirteen years. I ‘m glad my sister and I got to share mothers day honoring our mother.

Monday we shared some fun at a surprise Dog shower that my daughter threw for her sister. Yep, you read that right, Margie and I went to our first Baby Dog shower. It was fun. I guess you can say I have a new grand dog…

  2. Oh my goodness, that pup is so stinkin' cute!

I have half sisters and they live so far away. We never really go to know each other. I always wished for a sister growing up; it is such a special bond! I'm so happy to hear you have a lovely visit. This is what life is all about. You have it down Betty!

Love all the pictures and sentiment you put forth here. You love people well. :o)
